Maryland Seeking Opportunities and Resources (Maryland S.O.A.R.) is a privately funded community based mental health organization that provides quality, evidence based, and culturally competent psychosocial rehabilitation and supported employment services.

 

Maryland S.O.A.R believes the way to help individuals overcoming barriers is to establish an evidence-based culture that supports them in meeting specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely goals.

Maryland S.O.A.R’s mission is to provide individuals with quality behavior health services that will guide to them to living a productive life.

Supported Employment

Supported Employment is an approach to vocational rehabilitation for people with serious mental illnesses. Maryland S.O.A.R's  focuses on helping our clients obtain competitive work in the community and provide support necessary to ensure their success in the work place.

Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP)

Our PRP program provides community based, individualized support to minors and adults in need of additional wrap around behavioral health support to address areas of functioning that may be impaired or that require rehabilitation. We assist individuals living with mental illness to reach a higher level of independence and improve their overall quality of life by helping them and their families with accessing and coordinating services within the community.

Community Integration 

Community integration is a way to ensure that all people have access to the full spectrum of social, educational, and professional opportunities. These opportunities are embedded within the existing community, rather than segregated. This not only promotes the well-being of individuals but also increases the overall health of the entire community.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Lee experienced living in foster care for 9 years. While in foster care, he enjoyed career development groups and one on one life talks with staff. These experiences sparked his passion for workforce development and vocational skills. Lee has over 25 years of experience working with young adolescents and adults in behavioral health. He enjoys assisting clients with setting goals, providing resources, removing barriers and employment. Lee understands that meeting people where they are and building meaningful relationships are the keys to progression.
